expanding our bilingual Spanish and English offerings in CTL. Currently,
Spanish is available in three packets:
La Palabra Para Llevar (The

one side and Spanish on the other.

It is possible to provide
programs for Spanish speaking youth and adult participants with our Spanish
language resources including discussion questions, prayers, family prayer
book, and the handout masters. CTL catechist materials, however,
are available in English only at this time.

What is Celebrating
The Lectionary?
Celebrating The Lectionary
is a flexible, comprehensive, whole-community faith formation program based
on the baptismal catechumenate model recommended in the
General Directory
for Catechesis. The program offers complete whole-community faith formation,
or it can be used in specific ministries such as Christian Initiation of
youth, adults, and children, youth ministry, small christian communities,
or children's liturgy of the word.
Drawing on the rhythms of
the liturgical year and the cycle of Sunday readings, CTL incorporates
doctrine for children and adults so that catechesis emerges from and flows
back to Sunday worship.
CTL contains complete session
plans and reproducible handouts. Catechists, pastors, youth ministers,
liturgists, and directors of faith formation programs will find them invaluable.
There are catechetical packets,
liturgical
resource packets, bilingual components, and
"support
materials." The CTL packets, with reproducible masters, let you tailor
the program to meet the specific needs of your community. It is designed
and written so that it can be implemented by volunteer catechists. It is
extremely flexible. Try a single packet with a test group. Or, select individual
packets to supplement existing programs. Or, immerse your whole parish
in the process that allows people to deepen their relationship with God
and transform their faith into action for justice.

Why liturgical catechesis?
Liturgical catechesis is
the form of catechesis mandated by the General Directory for Catechesis,
which states in paragraph 59: "... the model for all catechesis is the
baptismal catechumenate." Using the sacraments, the rhythms of the liturgical
year, and the cycle of Sunday readings, the liturgically-based approach
of CTL works for children as well as adults and is designed so that Sunday
worship reinforces catechetical efforts and catechesis flows back
into liturgy and the sacraments. Systematic doctrinal formation is integrated
through the lens of the Sunday readings, the liturgical cycle, the sacraments
and special feasts and celebrations. CTL can be used in catechumenate programs,
for comprehensive faith formation at all levels, and as supplemental materials
as in the use of The Word To Go (formerly known as Handout Masters) or
Children's Liturgy of the Word.
