| "In the beginning, the Word became
flesh." Prepare the community for the beginnings of the new
church cycle, the secular year, and the millennium by
breaking open the experience of the Good News. The word
becomes flesh when the community opens up and lives out the
mystery of the Gospel.
Invite each household in the parish to tell stories of faith around the dinner table or as bedtime stories. Each night pick one of the four Sunday readings (first, psalm, second, Gospel) and let someone read the story. Let your imagination run wild with the richness of the symbolic words. Ask three questions of each of the readings: What did you hear? What does that mean for you? How will you live out your response? End your session by praying for the needs of others. Make a new beginning! Resolve this year to read and listen to the word so that it dwells and becomes flesh in you. Recommended Reading
