The altar and ambo, solid blocks of limestone with the integrated mosaics of eucharistic symbols, are the central focus of this new university chapel. The altar mosaics are powerful expressions of classic symbols such as the pelican using her own flesh to feed her young. The materials are limestone and mosaic tiles. The dimensions are: Altar—80" x 80" x 38"; Ambo—24" x 24" x 43". They are designed as an interpretation of Vatical II liturgical principles.
