Visual Arts AwardsThe first submission for the 1997-1998 contest has already arrived. The artist admits in her cover letter, however, that it really is a very late submission to the 1996-1997 contest. Nevertheless, it's not too early (or too late) to get your entry in. In this issue ML features the winners of the Stained Glass division of the annual Visual Arts Awards. The Permanent category was featured in the September issue (ML 23:7). Regrettably, one of the Honorable Mentions in the Permanent category was inadvertently left out of the September issue. It appears at right. Called and GiftedHave you marked your calendar for ML's Lay Leadership Institute? You can be part of shaping the future of the church. Come and discuss questions about the church of the next millennium such as: Will there be Sunday Mass? Who will preside? How will we initiate children and newcomers? Who will control the parish checkbook? ... and more. The church is at a crossroad, and you can help influence the next part of the journey. See the ad on page 35 for more information or call events coordinator Sue Espinosa at (510) 449-1261. CorrectionIn Barbara Guenther's article "Whose Prayer Is This?" in the September issue (ML 23:7), a line reads, "The entire prayer could be sung or changed." It should read, "The entire prayer could be sung or chanted." NW |
