Who is ML for?

What would it take to make liturgy better in your parish? That's the underlying question every issue of ML tries to answer. Good liturgy, as every ML reader knows, is the foundation of every parish and the font from which all parish activity flows. If liturgy suffers, the parish as a whole suffers.

That's why ML reaches out beyond liturgists.

ML is also for catechists. ML is an important tool for catechists because it goes beyond just the nuts and bolts of running catechetical programs. ML helps catechists — both in the parish and in the school — understand the central role of the liturgy in their catechetical ministry. ML helps catechists use the catechetical nature of the liturgy as the foundation for shaping the faith of their community. In many issues of ML, some feature focuses directly on the needs of catechists. In every issue of ML, catechists can benefit particularly from the "Liturgical Spirituality" section of the *Planning Guide* and from the *Year of Mark*.

ML is also for youth ministers. Again, ML goes beyond the "how to" of youth ministry. Instead, it is an essential guide to how to use the liturgy to make youth ministry more effective. Features like "Getting Your Teens to Participate in Sunday Liturgy" frequently appear in ML. And youth ministers can always benefit from the "Musical Liturgy" section of the *Planning Guide* and from the *Bulletin Inserts*.

ML is also for pastors. Of course ML helps pastors with their liturgical ministry, which is central. But ML also assists the pastor in educating the liturgy committee and the parish council about the primary role of liturgy building the faith lives of the parish. ML frequently interviews liturgical experts such as Richard Vosko. And, in every issue, ML reviews the latest resources that are available to parishes and parish volunteers *(Reviews)*. ML also annually reviews new products that assist the pastor and the pastoral team in their ministry ("Church Improvement Guide").

ML's goal is to be the most useful, hands-on resource available to pastoral teams to help them use the liturgy as the foundation of their ministry. In other words, ML's goal is to make liturgy better. Check out this issue, and see if ML can help out in your parish.
