Effective ministry

Dear Editor,

Thanks for your article “8 Habits of Highly Effective Cantors” by Diana M. Kaulback in the December issue (ML27:1). Although I am not a cantor I found the suggestions helpful in my efforts to be an effective minister in the church. I especially liked the “practice of humility” as I work with a team of very talented over-achievers, and keeping my confidence and abilities in perspective is important.

I put the closing sentence on an index card to be a reminder of my calling.

Dear Editor,

I am completing a cantor workshop given through the Diocese of Syracuse. I’ve been cantoring and lectoring as well as “choraling” with our choir for several years. The article “8 Habits of Highly Effective Cantors” by Diana M. Kaulback in the December issue is very helpful. Thanks for all the insight.
