Designed to accommodate those with disabilities, including the presider; altar, ambo and cantor's lectern are functional for priest (or cantor) standing or in a wheelchair. A curving ramp on the front of the predella is the main path to the altar for all processions. A concealed switch raises and lowers the reading desk of ambo and lectern. The height of the altar is changed by removing four wood blocks and lowering the mensa. The solid granite pieces are permanently set in the floor and act as guides for the raising and lowering of the mensa.
