SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 29, 2006 — Ministry & Liturgy magazine announced a call for entries today, and specified that entries for the Devotional Art & Spaces competition for its 22nd annual Visual Arts Awards must be submitted by September 1, 2006. The Devotional Art & Spaces competition includes Spaces and art that promote private prayer and devotions. Examples: Blessed Sacrament chapel, stations of the cross, shrines, memorials, prayer walks and prayer gardens.

The winners will have their work displayed in the online version of the February 2007 issue of Ministry & Liturgy. The Best of Show award will include $100 cash, and that work will be featured on the magazine cover.

Ministry & Liturgy's Visual Arts Awards are presented annually in five categories:

Devotional Art & Spaces (deadline November 1, 2006)
Sacred Symbols & Architecture (deadline January 1, 2007).
Sacred Art (deadline April 1, 2007)
and Art Glass (deadline June 1, 2007)
Ritual Objects (deadline September 1, 2007)
