Deadline announced for
Visual Arts Awards: Ritual Objects competition
SAN JOSE, Calif., August 17, 2006 — Ministry & Liturgy magazine
announced today that entries for the Ritual Objects competition for its
22nd annual Visual Arts Awards must be submitted by September 1, 2006.
The Ritual Objects competition includes vessels, vesture and furnishings,
either seasonal or all season. Examples: chalices, monstrances, tabernacles,
vestments, textiles (processional banners, altar cloths, paraments), and
ritual furnishings (credence table, candlestands, book shrine, etc.).
The winners will receive complimentary copies of the awards issue, and
their work will be displayed in the February 2007 issue of Ministry
& Liturgy. The Best of Show award will include $100 cash, and the
entry will be featured on the magazine cover.
Ministry & Liturgy's Visual Arts Awards are presented annually
in five categories:
Ritual Objects (deadline September 1, 2006)
Devotional Art & Spaces (deadline November 1, 2006)
Sacred Symbols & Architecture (deadline January 1, 2007).
Sacred Art (deadline April 1, 2007)
and Art Glass (deadline June 1, 2007)
