This
compilation of idea starters evolved from Homily Resources, one
of the packets available from Resource Publications, Inc.'s Celebrating
the Lectionary (CTL) series. However, instead of the annual format
offered by CTL, this resource is presented as a three-cycle reference book
with liturgical calendar. Features include personal reflections, community
reflections, idea starters for children, teens and adults, and ideas for
images from the media that could play a role in a homily.
"Have
you tapped the well too often?" asks Cathy Qualls, editor of the Celebrating
the Lectionary series. "When approaching the word, it is helpful to
find fresh ideas and images to spark your thoughts for homily preparation.
Preaching
to Adults, Teens, and Children is just the book for you. Gleaned from
years of homily aids, this multi-cycle guide is a rich resource to provide
you assistance for years to come." This resource is a practical tool for
priests, deacons, lay preachers, homilists, directors of religious education,
youth ministers, Children's Liturgy of the Word leaders and anyone else
who needs to preach to specific age groups or mixed audiences.
