The book helps practitioner audiences understand the bishops' vision, learn to develop their own vision, organize teams, promote their ministry, recruit volunteers, and match skills to ministry needs.

The guide is intended for parish and diocesan leadership, from directors of religious education and diocesan schools of ministry to pastors, catechists, catechumenate teams, youth ministers and all other ministries dealing with adult parishioners.

Dr. Richard C. Brown, founder and director of the Center for Effective Ministry, Inc., has also served as parish director of adult faith formation. He holds master’s degrees in counseling, education and Catholic pastoral theology and a doctorate in education. He has been an assistant professor at Ball State University, a Marianist brother for 10 years and a high school counselor and family therapist in private practice for 22 years.
