New book offers an experience of the primary symbols of worship. SAN JOSE, Calif., May 7, 2004 - Resource Publications, Inc., announces a new book that will bring faith communities to deeper levels of spiritual awareness by examining the primary symbols of Catholic worship: font, altar, ambo, and assembly. This new resource provides a process for group discussion and meditation for a fuller experience of the primary symbols. Its purpose is to catechize the faith community about their baptismal call to participate actively in liturgy. By awakening their spiritual imagination people will be able to enter into a deeper faith experience that leads to authentic, active involvement in liturgical prayer and ritual. Each chapter concludes with discussion questions, a prayer, and a ritual or meditation for individual or group use. The final chapter offers suggestions and creative prayers and rituals for worshiping in temporary settings. "Written with ordinary parishioners in mind, the book provides sound
insights into primary symbols such as font, ambo, altar, and assembly.
These insights and the accompanying rituals and questions for reflection
will help people break open their experience of worship. This book will
be a treasure."
