Announcing a New Magazine About Safe Learning Environments.

Covering ways to make schools
safer and more secure.

Resource Publications, Inc., announced plans this week to publish SAFE LEARNING, a magazine designed to help K-12 administrators create safe learning environments for their students.

SAFE LEARNING will be published eight times a year during the school year – with the first issue planned for September 2000 carrying a cover date of October 2000.

The magazine will cover the various ways administrators can make schools safer and more secure — from installing more sophisticated security hardware to applying the best thinking available about violence prevention to upgrading the training of various school personnel to special curriculum choices that will develop character and values in the students of the 21st century. SAFE LEARNING will cover the full range of safety and security issues: gang violence, suicides, playground accidents, vandalism and graffiti, school bus and street-crossing safety, harassment and abuse, drug problems, and more.

The first issues of SAFE LEARNING will be sent to all key administrators in middle schools and high schools across the country. SAFE LEARNING will increase its circulation to also include elementary-school administrators in 2001. Initially, qualified administrators at every level will receive SAFE LEARNING free of charge. Other staff and individuals can order subscriptions at the charter subscription rate of $48, which is a full $40 less than the post-publication subscription rate of $88 per year. SAFE LEARNING will also be developed with an accompanying world wide web site, to be announced separately in the near future.
