SAN JOSE, Calif., July 21, 2003 - Resource Publications, Inc., announces an open beta test period for the beta demo version of Sacramental Register and Certificate Maker 4.0, a new software product with expanded features and improved performance capabilities over version 3.0 (which was released January, 2001). The open beta test gives every user and prospective user a free opportunity to preview and evaluate the beta demo version of the software and help shape and improve the final version by furnishing critiques, suggestions, and general user feedback before the final commercial version is released.

Sacramental Register 4.0 enables parishes to quickly create certificates from the information taken from their handwritten registers. The brand new database platform in version 4.0 provides increased stability in today's world of networked computers and evolving Windows environments.

There are a dozen brand-new capabilities in version 4.0, including an additional address line to facilitate more complex addresses, including international addresses. The ledger reports for first communion and confirmation have been changed to include the church of baptism and its city and state. Every line of text on every certificate can be edited by the user with the sole exception of the church name. The new text can also be saved from session to session, so that users can translate certificates into Spanish, French, or any other language. Since 50 percent of marriages are not first marriages, the new program also accommodates a second marriage for the widowed or those with annulments. The custom text feature permits the creation of "generic" certificates for anniversaries, years of service awards, and other parish occasions. Customize the graphic settings for the certificates, including border selection, border position, border color, and certificate orientation, plus font selection, font size and font color. All of these can be saved and automatically become the default settings. The original defaults can be restored at any time. Sacramental Register 4.0 now allows rapid and easy printing of certificates and/or groups of certificates. Church administrators will save time, quickly locating the sacramental records for each parishioner and retrieving them with a single click.
