RPI creates first e-book for a popular ministry resource SAN JOSE, Calif., April 12, 2002 -- When A Book of Ritual Prayers went out of stock and was not reprinted, its fans complained. Today, the San Jose-based publisher, Resource Publications, Inc. (RPI), announces the arrival of a new edition called 30 Celebrations for Youth, Families, and Parishes: Ritual Prayers for the Liturgical and School Year. The new edition has been produced in an “e-book” format that allows customers to search through the book’s contents while accessing it from their computer. Then they can decide which liturgies they like and want to print out. “Generally, people don’t read these collections cover to cover,” says Nick Wagner, RPI editorial director. “They browse until they find the liturgy that suits the occasion and then they want to print it out for their planning team. The large-format e-book is perfect for that.” Just like the older version, this e-book focuses on providing step-by-step liturgy planning that will be exciting and engaging. The new e-book has a special focus on bringing teens into the liturgies, yet it is designed to help its users create liturgies that are powerful for everyone in the family, from children to adults. 30 Celebrations for Youth Families and Parishes, RPI’s first e-book, is already receiving praise from those who have seen advance copies. Professor Tad Guzie of the University of Calgary writes, “The liturgies in this book are admirable models of what celebration is all about. These rituals engage the heart and the head and all five senses in creative ways. This is a practical book that teaches us, through marvelous examples, how to go about planning celebrations step by step.” Available in printable, Adobe Acrobat format, it is accessible from both Apple and IBM-compatible computers. Customers who buy the book may download it from the Internet for use on their individual computers. # # # Marlene Kemper Welte directs music ministry at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Matteson, Ill.
