Reviews
"Much more than a commentary on lectionary texts, this clearly written
study illuminates the major themes of Acts and introduces the reader to
Luke's powerful vision of the church. This will be welcomed not only
by preachers and liturgy planners, but by every adult Bible reader looking
for a sure guide through Acts."
— Donald Senior, CP, president, Catholic Theological Union, Chicago
"Leonard Doohan's Acts of Apostles is an excellent
resource for pastoral leaders, lay or ordained, who, while seeking
to understand the history of the early church, are also committed
to parish renewal."
— Edward Sellner, director of the master's in theology program, College of St. Catherine,
St. Paul, Minn., and author ofWisdom of the Celtic Saints
"Doohan's lively, solid and insightful Acts of Apostles
deserves a hearty welcome among both students and teachers
in adult education courses, in seminar and college courses."
— John Navone, SJ, professor, Gregorian University, Rome, and author
of Themes of St. Luke and Tellers of the Word
