Children may be the preacher's greatest untapped resource. Reach children and you reach their parents, other adults and the Gospel. All you need is a little nerve, a little imagination and a kickstart. Father Ron Mierzwa, who has made it his mission to draw children into the liturgical life of the church, provides the kickstart. These homily outlines, all culled from actual homilies, will stimulate your natural creativity and faith-filled response. All ordained and non-ordained preachers who work with children will benefit from this book. New electronic format permits printing of one Sunday at a time.

Reviews

“It was with great relief that I came across the splendid children’s homilies of my fellow diocesan priest, Fr. Ronald Mierzwa, who is a master in this arena. His anecdotes dazzle the imaginations of children, who are always delighted by the simplicity yet wittiness of this gifted raconteur ... Fr. Mierzwa, with his clear and easily comprehended parables, indeed teaches ‘as Jesus did.’”
Msgr. Richard S. Amico, St. Joseph’s Parish, Diocese of Buffalo, N.Y.

“Rev. Ronald B. Mierzwa is a credible liturgist who brings insight, creativity and a rich imagination to ... homilies for young people and for the young at heart. This book will be a constant companion for priests, liturgists, DREs and catechists.”
Sr. M. Lucette Kinecki, CSSF, pastoral associate, Blessed Sacrament Church, Kenmore, N.Y.

“I have found that Fr. Mierzwa’s ideas and materials have been very beneficial for religious educators and for clergy who pray and celebrate with children. In his homily ideas, he uses concrete examples from a child’s experience to help the Scriptures come alive for the child.”
— Beth Lenegan, pastoral associate, director of religious education, St. Andrew’s Rectory, Buffalo, N.Y.

“Fr. Mierzwa has written homilies that speak to the heart and experience of every child. The homilies have proven time and again to be of invaluable assistance to me as I have prepared to celebrate with and for the children of my parish.”
— Rev. Richard E. Sowinski, parochial vicar, St. Paul’s Church, Kenmore, N.Y.
