CURE, THE
The Hero's Journey with Cancer
G. Frank Lawlis, PhD
Paper, $9.95
64 pages, 5½" × 8½"
ISBN 0-89390-273-X

G. Frank Lawlis developed the fable in The Cure — about a wolf who consults other animals for a cure for a mysterious disease — as a way to help people with cancer confront their fears, solve the mystery of the healthcare system and become active participants in their own healing.

Reviews

“G. Frank Lawlis has written a profound and precious healing story. The powerful symbols and animal dialogue create a mythic experience that exceeds the likes of Jonathan Livingston Seagull.”
— Angeles Arrien, Ph.D., cultural anthropologist and author of The Fourfold Way

“When I read The Cure, I had a great feeling for the rest of the day ... I would recommend it to anyone who is going through the process of disease or has someone special to them going through it. It is a story of success in finding oneself through the journey of disease.”
— Michael Samuels, M.D., author of Seeing with the Mind’s Eye
