MORE PARABLES FOR LITTLE PEOPLE
Lawrence Castagnola, SJ Paper, $8.95 82 pages, 5½" × 8½" ISBN 0-89390-095-8 |
Larry Castagnola writes childrens stories with a happy, positive message. Themes include caring, sharing, non-violence and human rights. The other stories retell the New Testament parables without mentioning the characters names. These stories are designed to help parents and teachers who search for alternatives to the main plot of so many childrens stories today: death from a laser beam. These parables are rich with literary fantasy and delightful illustrations, so young people of all ages will surely enjoy them. And while theyre enjoying, they will also be learning some of the greatest lessons ever taught.
Reviews
Larry Castagnola offers us a wonderfully warm and witty collection of
parables. Readers should be forewarned. If you pick up these stories, if you
accept his invitations, if you listen, if you enter into these parables
imaginatively, you do so at your own risk. You cannot help but be
transformed.
Michael E. Moynahan, S.J.
