The 15 chapters in Peer Programs on the College Campus cover
the many ways to incorporate peer helping programs on the college
campus. These programs already exist at the University of Michigan; the
authors discuss how the programs were initiated, what adjustments were
necessary and how students benefit from being involved in them. In the
voice of the peers, students share stories of success,
disappointment, hard work and invaluable experience.
Editor Sherry L. Hatcher, Ph.D., explains the differences between peer
helping on the college campus and peer helping on the high-school
campus. She presents the 12-week curriculum she designed and teaches
at the University of Michigan as a model for creating a custom-level
course.
