At my parish, first reconcilliation is done in 2nd grade (7 or 8 years of age), first communion 8 weeks later and Confirmation in 8th grade (13 or 14 years of age).
The parish a mile west (same diocese) does first communion in 3rd grade! I was stunned to hear of it.
