My sister's home diocese does it in 10th grade (age 15-16) but when her children were in 9th & 10th grades they moved to Germany and the custom there is for a younger age (somewhere between 6th & 8th, I think) and suddenly her children (and a few others) were the odd ducks at Confirmation.
