: Anglicans don't propers like you would find in the Graduale Romanum. They use hymns that are proper to a given day.

Then I'm very confused. The Anglican (Episcopal)Liturgies I have looked at online all had propers for the Introit, Offetory, and Communion, as we do in the Roman Rite. For example:

http://www.episcopalnet.org/1928bcp/propers/Missal/Sexagesima.html

and here....

http://www.stmatthewsacc.com/music/musmore.html

and here...

http://www.sacredmusicamerica.com/harmony/ang_intro.html (do a search on propers)

Granted, much like us, they probably do substitute hymns for the propers, but I can't imagine this being the preferred practice.

I'm coming at this totally blind. I've never been to a High Anglican service before. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Chris S.
