For me, the abuse started when I was around 11 and continued on into my teen years. And I know I wasn't the only one being abused at the hands of this man. (Just for the record, this man was not a priest but is a person my family knew and trusted for many years before the abuse occurred.)

So yes, I suppose it's all a matter of semantics, and the term "Sexual Predator" would be the better one to use in this situation.

I still disagree vehemently with the person who tried to equate homosexuals with sexual predators / paedophilia because, again, this is not an issue of one's sexuality here, it really is more of an issue of power - who has power over whom, and it is the sexual predator who wields the power against the vulnerable child / teen.

I was in that position. I know what it feels like. And I resent anyone who doesn't know what it's like charging in and trying to paint everyone with the same brush.

Another thing I should add. I am a regular poster here, usually posting under my name, along with email address. But for obvious reasons, as far as this issue is concerned, I prefer to remain anonymous.
