Well, either no one here has seen it, or no one wants to talk about it anymore.
Some of the members of the folk group I'm in went to see it together. Not one of them has said a word directly about it since then. I have noticed, though, that they are showing the signs of people who have bonded together after sharing a traumatic or emotionally significant event. My take on it from what I've been able to pick up on from them is that they were very moved by the images of Jesus with his mother, but I don't think they've been able to totally process the images of the violence just yet.
It's been very interesting to observe. Kind of like a group post-traumatic stress syndrome.
: ... what about Mel's movie? I have never seen quite such an enthusiastic deluge of free publicity for a commercial project before. Mel's wheelbarrow is groaning as he rolls it toward the bank. I have not, as yet seen the film, but the criticism has been interesting, and often brutal. Lots of churches have reserved blocks of tickets and held discussions afterward, etc.
