Call me old fashioned but holy water is a powerful sacramental. It chases away the devil and reminds us of our baptism. No one should be deprived of holy water during the Lenten season (except as stipulated from Holy Thursday evening until the blessing of the Easter Water). Emptying the fonts is a spiritually dangerous innovation.
