Actually, I do like some of them.
I dpn't think Lent is the time for the Feng Shuicically-minded to get artsy with bare branches where they would ordinarily put flowers, or yards of luxurious purple draping, or broken pots and terra cotta shards (all of which people have tried in our parsih at one time or another.)

Bare is better.
Stark is both elegant and meaningful.
