I have prayed before that tabernacle many times. To me it looks like a gold globe, granted one sees only half of the globe from a particular vantage point. The tabernacle is in the place that is quite often occupied by a statue of the BVM (on "the Gospel side"). A metalwork grill encorporating an image of BVM is on the other side of the sanctuary ("epistle side", so to speak). I have never considered one more prominent than the other -- it actually takes some imagination to find Mary in the metalwork.

The primary colors of the cathedral are beiges and browns and it is so devoid of religous imagery that my mother asked if I was sure that this was the *Catholic* cathedral.

While the Cathedral has two excellent organs it has terrible accoustics not to mention that there is a subway stop under the sidewalk in front of the Cathedral which adds a rumble as often as every 3 minutes.

Along with the physican's adage that one should not be the first nor the last to prescribe a new medication, one should not be the first bishop to approve renovations in light of Vatican directives.
