You may also note that there are a large number of the "faithful" who dwell in the House of the Lord and meditate with their eyes closed in the back pews of the Cathedral. Most are men of color. They may have no other safe place to keep warm (or cool) during the day. On one trip downtown my school aged daughter said the thing that surprised her most about our trip was that "bums go to church".
